The choice between dubbing and subtitling is often the object of debates and it can sometimes be tricky to decide on the most appropriate method. Like subtitling, dubbing/voice over has its advantages and disadvantages and the choice depends on your audience's preference as well as the nature of your content. Different countries have, by tradition, a preference for one method more than another but the approach is not systematic and varies depending on the content. 
There are also cases when dubbing is automatically the best option or the only option sometimes, as subtitles are not suitable; for example, dubbing is the most appropriate method for content aimed at children, or for content with fast-paced dialogues, and also content containing many instances of dialogue over graphics on screen, which would make subtitles unsuitable as there is a risk of losing relevant information.
